The developer behind Halo Infinite revealed during a livestream overnight (via XBA) that Master Chief's highly anticipated next outing will include four-player splitscreen support.

The studio is currently working on a new engine for the upcoming first-person shooter, so presumably Halo Infinite is still a long way off. Four-player splitscreen is currently being tested in the new engine, 343 confirmed.

Elsewhere, the developer revealed that Infinite's armor customisation will pluck inspiration from Halo Reach.

Furthermore, anyone who hits level 152 in Halo 5: Guardians will be rewarded with a special prize for Halo Infinite, though there's no details on what that will be just yet. Speaking of Halo 5, 343 heavily indicated that post-launch support for the game is winding down, although there's still a few things in the pipeline.

Finally, the studio teased that Master Chief will feature his coolest design seen to date, which is good to know.

Halo Infinite is currently in development for Xbox One and has yet to attract a release date.
