343 Industries has announced that the upcoming Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for Xbox 360 supports Kinect.

Speaking in an interview with GameSpot, Microsoft Games Studio boss Phil Spencer spilled the beans. “As a first-party,” he said, “we believe Kinect will be important to all genres of games, be it racing games with Forza, combat games like Ryse, even games like Halo Anniversary have Kinect integration.”

Phil doesn’t give any information on how Kinect will integrate into the game, however. But it’s plain to see that getting Kinect into core titles is one of Microsoft’s key priorities, with the company devoting much of its E3 2011 conference to exhibiting such titles.

Microsoft has also let slip that Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will feature Halo 4 secrets.

343 Industries’ Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary allows you to play through the first game in the Halo series with either the original look or new-fangled HD graphics.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is out for Xbox 360 on November 15, at an estimated retail price of £34.99 in the UK.

Would Bungie have wanted to use Microsoft’s Kinect if they had the chance in iconic 2001 shooter Halo: Combat Evolved? What do you think?
