With the July 4 holiday in the US, the Bungie team had a shorter than usual working week. According to Frankie, the author of the update, this meant “very limited playtests this week, almost no multiplayer fun for me and a very brief, if exciting campaign test with lots of driving in it.“
The bulk of the update is filled with info that everyone has been waiting for – user interface design and development! The good news is that it’s “come on in leaps and bounds.
As it stands now, the interface is designed to make it very simple to get to a “lobby” and make all necessary changes from there – so that you can customize your experience, appearance, and more importantly, really specific game types from anywhere,” writes Frankie.
There’s good news for those that enjoy a lot of quick games, but are left frustrated when the “Quick Options” selection doesn’t let you set the exact game you want. We’re told this will no longer be an issue.
The update also includes some news on the Halo graphic novel, plus a nice new picture of Master Chief eating some sweetcorn.
