In an amazingly fast response from Bungie, a patch has been released for Halo 2 which will solve many of the issues that players had with multiplayer on Xbox Live (though it will not, sadly, reconcile those unsatisfied with the single-player’s ending).

The patch speeds up match-finding using the Optimatch and Quick Match search functions and also improves HDTV support (not really an issue for us here in Britainland). Most importantly, however, it opens up a new multiplayer map – Foundation.

Just switch your Xbox on and the patch will download automatically – with your consent, of course. Happy fragging!
