Bungie has finally announced details on the new multiplayer content that is to be released for Halo 2. As was rumoured last week, the new multiplayer maps will be released over Xbox Live and will be released as a boxed game disc at retail stores. The retail box will cost £14.99 ($19.99) and will be released on June 28th 2005.
In late April four maps will be made available over Xbox Live, with two of those being free to download. Unfortunately, the other two maps and the remaining five that will be released (on the same day the retail disc goes on sale) will all need to be purchased. The first two maps will cost $5.99 for the pair and the remaining five available on June 28th will cost $11.99. We expect the European prices to be slightly different, but they are yet to be announced.
The retail disc will contain some extras, including a new cinematic, a documentary and all the updates that have been released via Xbox Live so far. For those of you that don’t want to pay for the new maps, Bungie has announced that they will all be made free to download by late Summer.
