Half-Life 2: Aftermath was one of the most anticipated PC titles in the Christmas period. The expansion Kicks off where Half-Life 2 ended, and Valve had given the game a tentative November release date, but unfortunately this has changed. A Half-Life 2 fansite halflife2.net has published an email conversation it held with Doug Lombardi, director of marketing at Valve Software, in which the game’s delay is confirmed.

Just wanted to give you a quick update on Aftermath, specifically its ETA,” Lombardi wrote. “We’re working very hard to finish this new episode for HL2, however, it’s going to take us a bit more time to get it into top shape. As such, the target release for this one is now Feb/March of next year.

If you don’t trust the words of a fansite then maybe you will believe GameSpot who contacted Lombardi. He confirmed the delay, stating that the halflife2.net story was “accurate.” We’re hoping February/March doesn’t become Winter 2006. We all know how the Valve boys like delays.
