H1Z1 waves goodbye to Early Access today with full PC launch

Daybreak Games’ H1Z1 has rolled out of Early Access and into a full-blown release on PC via Steam today.

Having been in Early Access for around two years, the battle royale title has emerged with a brand new game mode titled Auto Royale, which complements the action with ‘high-octane vehicular mayhem.’

Plucking inspiration from H1Z1’s adrenaline-fuelled vehicle-based action, Auto Royale sees up to 30 teams of four slugging it out to be the last vehicle standing. Expect to burn rubber across huge maps while hoovering up various power-ups, weapons, ammo, health, and more as you mow down the opposition until everyone else is nothing but a charred, smoking wreck. 

You’ll also be able to get your paws on two new vehicles to take for a spin, namely the Sedan and an armoured recon vehicle, plus utilise a variety of new features to help ensure maximum mayhem, such as ramps, landmines, oil slicks, jumps, turbo boosts, and more.

‘In 2016, we did something unheard of — we split a successful game into two products and introduced the world to the first standalone battle royale game. The next year, we created the first battle royale esports league and became the second esport to ever air on broadcast television. This year, we continue to push this young genre forward with the introduction of Auto Royale,’ commented Anthony Castoro, H1Z1’s General Manager.

In addition to Auto Royale, the full launch of H1Z1 also introduces some extra content including Tactical Deployment, allowing you to select where you want to parachute in on a map, plus the game’s first full season, which includes a revamped scoring algorithm among other features.
