Sony is offering you the chance to take Grand Theft Auto Online for a spin on PlayStation 4 this summer without the need for a PlayStation Plus membership.

The offer is open until August 6 and coincides with the launch of GTA Online's nightclub-themed After Hours update, which sees the return of Grand Theft Auto 4's Gay Tony.

You'll obviously need a copy of Grand Theft Auto 5 to take part in the online multiplayer shenanigans, although at this point I'm not sure who doesn't own the game to be honest.

GTA Online has been an absolute beast of a money-maker for publisher Take-Two Interactive, driving huge revenue for the company on a monthly basis. In fact, it's probably this reason why Rockstar abandoned plans for GTA 5 single-player content.

We thought GTA Online was superb upon its launch in October 2013, and things have only gotten better since.
