Everyone knows Grand Theft Auto 6 is going to be absolutely huge when it comes out. There are rumors of a revolutionary app for mobile devices to replace the now defunct Rockstar Social Club, and there are also exciting patents from Take-Two Interactive that share more details beyond the two trailers we’ve seen so far. Projections have previously stated Rockstar will make $1 billion in just pre-orders, and now an analyst’s massive new prediction would cement the release of GTA 6 as the biggest launch in entertainment history.

Analyst shares massive prediction for GTA 6

On LinkedIn, John Chapman has shared Konvoy’s predictions for GTA 6. Konvoy is a firm that invests “in the platforms and technologies at the frontier of gaming,” and they also report on the financials of the gaming industry.

According to Chapman, Konvoy predicts GTA 6 “will generate $7.6 BILLION in revenue in the first 60 Days of its launch”. This would cement it as not only the “greatest video game release of all time,” but also the biggest in entertainment history.

Konvoy also predicts Take-Two Interactive will “break even on its $2bn investment <30 days of release,” and they expect the game to sell at $80. The price of Grand Theft Auto 6 has been a huge point of contention, but $80 would now be seen as reasonable thanks to Nintendo and Microsoft raising the cost of games to this price.

In a full breakdown of the projections shared on the GTA subreddit, Konvoy expects GTA 6 to sell 85 million copies within 60 days. Their projections also take into consideration revenue earned from GTA+ subscriptions.

As a point of comparison, Grand Theft Auto 5 made $1 billion in just three days after releasing in 2013 after making $800 million on day one. As reported by IGN at the time, analysts predicted GTA 5 to make $1 billion in a month, so Grand Theft Auto 5 blew projections away in just three days.

While $7.6 billion in just 60-days sounds insane, it’s possible GTA 6 could perform even better than expected. GTA 5 has just been given approval to officially release in Saudi Arabia, and GTA 6 has appeared on the Saudi Arabia PSN store, suggesting the game will release day-one in countries Rockstar has previously been banned.

In addition to selling in more countries, it appears Rockstar are gearing for an even bigger marketing campaign all over the world, for which they have just completed recruitment. We absolutely cannot wait for Grand Theft Auto 6 to come out, and here’s hoping for everyone that it manages to meet its May 26th, 2026, release date.
