The hype surrounding GTA 6 is unlike anything else. Exciting patents support rumors about a much-improved player count for Online, meanwhile, job listings also backup rumors of a revolutionary app in place of the now defunct Rockstar Social Club. While all of this is interesting, the biggest leak to surface recently is the claim that GTA 6 will support a 60fps mode on the PS5 Pro.

GTA 6 leaker doubles down on PS5 Pro 60fps mode

On July 19th, DetectiveSeeds claimed “GTA 6 has been, and continues, to hit 60fps while being optimized for the PS5 Pro on multiple graphical settings”. As for how 60fps is being achieved, DetectiveSeeds claims “PS engineers are assisting with the optimization… [as well as] assisting on several other Rockstar titles that are rolling out in the near future (pre ps5 pro 2026 update)”.

Unfortunately, don’t expect 60fps on the base PS5 as it is “being achieved on the PS5 Pro only,” although this “could obviously change before release”. Lastly, DetectiveSeeds states PlayStation has a marketing deal that is “encouraging this collaboration on optimization,” and this marketing deal “Should see several GTA6/PS bundles in the next marketing push”. As for where the leak stems from, DetectiveSeeds claims it is “from a Playstation engineer who has provided highly accurate and verified info several times in the past”.

Following the posting of this leak, there has been some scepticism online because of DetectiveSeeds as a source. DetectiveSeeds is banned from the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit, and they have posted some inaccuracies in the past such as claiming Oblivion Remastered would come out on April 3rd and claiming the release window for Ghost of Yotei was “mid to late July”, before it was officially announced for October 2nd. They also claimed Gears of War on PS5 would be a collection out in “early to mid-August,” and that it would have “no multiplayer PvP”. Gears of War Reloaded is officially coming to PS5 on August 26th with multiplayer included.

In wake of the scepticism, DetectiveSeeds has double downed on the reliability of the leak based on their track record. The leaker posted, “I have a 91% total accuracy for putting out information and being correct”. DetectiveSeeds claims he “had bad info on the first Oblivion date” but was correct the second time, and, for Ghost of Yotei, “they delayed GTA 6 and then moved Yotei”. As for Gears of War on PS5, DetectiveSeeds claims the collection was “broke into pieces and I had the release month correct”.

Lastly, regarding being banned from GamingLeaksAndRumors, DetectiveSeeds claims it’s because they called out “One of the head mods on there [who] wrote a false article about me when my X and YT were illegally accessed stating I deleted it”. DetectiveSeeds claims the accounts were hacked, and the original article received an amendment.

Without official announcement from PlayStation or Rockstar, there’s no way to verify the validity of these leaks. Regarding 60fps on the PS5 Pro, DetectiveSeeds did legitimately put out information in March before interviews with Mark Cerny discussing PSSR for 2026 surfaced in early-July.

In addition, DetectiveSeeds is the not only one purporting rumors of a PlayStation marketing deal for GTA 6. Originally, in December 2023, Alex Smith, a developer who previously worked at Bend Studio, claimed, “PLAYSTATION will have the marketing rights for GTA6 on PlayStation 5… PLAYSTATION is already thinking Bundle with PLAYSTATION 5 PRO”. It also wouldn’t be surprising as PlayStation has previously had marketing deals with Rockstar games, all the footage so far for trailers has been captured on the PS5, and there is the fake PS5 console seen in trailer 2.

In other rumors, speculation about a GTA 4 port for current-gen consoles continues beyond leaks thanks to Rockstar Support.
