Codemasters has slashed the price of GRID on Steam to £2.99/$4.99/€4.49 for the next three days as part of a charity drive.
The price drop will go into effect later today and last until Thursday July 21.
Codemasters is donating all profits from sales of the game during this time to charity. The UK publisher is working with industry charity GamesAid, as well as offering support to initiatives through Nesta and the Livingstone-Hope review.
“The monies will be directed to worthwhile causes targeted at young people. This will embrace education, sport and the disadvantaged and vulnerable in our society and will clearly demonstrate that video games make a positive difference to the lives of young people,” said Codemasters CEO Rod Cousens.
It will also allow you to pad out your Steam library with yet another game on the cheap.
“We aim to support young people who have aspirations and want to develop themselves through knowledge and further education, particularly if it relates to media and technology in readiness for the opportunities that are open to them in the digital age. This may well take the form of opening up a career in the games industry and all that is has to offer,” added Cousens.
Back in 2008, VideoGamer.com awarded a respectable 9/10 to the game in its GRID review.
