A press release from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) confirmed that the game has been pushed back to December 28th due to error fixing taking longer than planned. The game also now is almost certain to miss the North American release date of December 12th, too, although shouldn’t have any impact on the European release, bearing in mind that the hope of a 2004 release date disappeared into the ether many moons ago.

This news is almost funny, given that the desired online multiplayer aspect was ripped out some months ago, in order to secure that all-important 2004 holiday release, and made hysterical by the fact that only last week a high-profile party was held by SCEJ celebrating the game’s release.

Rumours that they will not re-instate the online aspect to appease angry Japanese and American gamers ‘Just for kicks’ are a complete fabrication on my part.

We’ll bring you more news as it happens.
