Bungie has announced that PC owners will be able to snag a free copy of Destiny 2 this month, providing you download it between now and November 18.

The freebie comes in light of Destiny 2's first anniversary on the platform, and to be fair, there's probably no better time to pick it up. After all, the game now has plenty of post-launch content to dip into, so once you're done with the base game you can snap up Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken to continue your Engram-farming exploits.

In addition, Bungie is hosting a free weekend for Destiny 2's Gambit mode, which runs November 9-11. If you already own Destiny 2 on PC, then you'll receive an exclusive Emblem instead.

Destiny 2 was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in September 2017, before rolling out for the PC the following month. The game is in far better shape now than it was at launch, with various quality-of-life improvements having rolled out over the past 12 months.

Forsaken will be supported by another year's worth of DLC as part of the Destiny 2 annual pass, which takes us through to summer 2019.

Rumours have also suggested that we will get another round of content after this prior to Destiny 3. Read our Destiny 2 review here.
