Activision’s GoldenEye 007, the game based on the 1995 movie, is earning favourable reviews, and according to early figures is attracting decent sales, too.

Speaking to investors during Activision’s third-quarter earnings call last night, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg said: “This title has only been out for a few days, but it’s already out selling last year’s Modern Warfare as Wii SKU for the comparable period.”

Obviously we don’t actually have an idea of the quantity of sales for GoldenEye, but managing to outsell Modern Warfare – albeit on the platform on which the game isn’t a huge seller – is a positive sign.
