Activision and Eurocom are developing GoldenEye 007 for the Wii, with a holiday 2010 release being targeted.
While based on the original film, it now stars Daniel Craig and lets players use the new bond’s lethal, gritty style. It’s been billed as a modern take on the legendary GoldenEye adventure.
“We’re thrilled to give E3 attendees a chance to experience the new GoldenEye 007,” said David Pokress, Head of Marketing for Licensed Properties, Activision Publishing. “The game delivers an all-new adventure that seamlessly integrates nostalgic GoldenEye moments with innovative FPS gameplay and unique multiplayer action that is unrivalled on the platform.”
As well as classic four-player split-screen multipayer, featuring a selection of 40 characters, five maps, three game modes, and 16 modifiers, GoldenEye 007 includes eight-player online play and an XP system.
Numerous control schemes are supported, including Classic Controller, Wii Zapper, and standard Wii Remote and Nunchuck.
GoldenEye 007 will be released exclusively on Wii this holiday.
