At a ceremony in London’s Park Lane hotel today, the winners of the annual Golden Joystick Awards were announced (by Little Britain funnyman, Matt Lucas, no less). The winners were determined by the votes of over 200,000 consumers, who voted on games and hardware released between November 14th 2003 and October 28th 2004. The awards show, organised by Future Publishing, is now in it’s 22nd year of recognising the latest and greatest games and hardware in the fast-growing gaming industry.

Activision’s PC FPS Doom III was the only game to take home 2 awards, scooping up the titles of Ultimate Game of the Year, and PC Game of the Year.

Ion Storm’s Warren Spector was awarded entry into the Barrington Harvey-sponsored Golden Joystick’s Hall of Fame. He joins last year’s inaugural admission, Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto.
