EA today announced that a new multiplayer mode, Don Control, will be coming to The Godfather II when it is released next month. In Don Control players must think like a Don and compete in a competition to be the ultimate Don of Dons.

Players can challenge each other in 16-player battles for their in-game currency from the single-player game. In the online world players will be able to recruit other players to join their family by giving them a cut of the profits. It’s a risky business though; lose as a Don in an online match and the money wagered will be gone, resulting in potential trouble back in the single-player game.

Don Control will be supported by the game’s four multiplayer modes and six maps. The new mode will be available as a free downloadable patch when the game hits stores on April 7 in North American and on April 10 across Europe.
