West Ham’s goalkeeper, Robert Green, who had previously blamed England’s dismal failure to qualify for next summer’s European championship on video games, has revealed he has been “slaughtered” for his comments, as reported in the London Lite.
Earlier this week Green claimed “We would have the best team if we could go into every household and throw away every PlayStation, Xbox and video game”.
However, today he admitted he had taken some abuse from mates in the video game world who have taken issue at his frankly ludicrous comments.
He said: “I have friends who work in the video game world slaughtering me over what I said. I did once possess a video game myself a few years ago. It was easy to become addicted but now I prefer a real life rather than one online or crammed inside a six-inch box.”
Six-inch box? What ever could you mean Robert?
