Gamers picking up Diablo III today will be able offer Guest Passes to friends, providing access to the Diablo III Starter Edition.

The Diablo III Starter Edition provides a limited version of the game up to the Skeleton King in Act I. Players can increase their level to 13, whilst matchmaking is only available with other players of the Starter Edition. There will be no access to the Real Money Auction House.

30 days after launch the Starter Edition will be accessible without a Guest Pass.

The Starter Edition can be upgraded to the full game via Battle.net Account Management.

Blizzard has also detailed the Diablo III Character Profiles. Available on the game’s official website, these pages will track all your Diablo III progress, including keeping tabs on equipment and skills.

Diablo III launches at midnight tonight.
