EA Labels president Frank Gibeau will deliver the opening keynote at Gamescom later this month, EA has announced.

Gibeau will take to the stage at 7pm CET (6pm BST) on Wednesday, August 15 to deliver a talk on “the changing landscape of the gaming industry and reveal why the games we will play four years from now would be unrecognisable to us today”.

Gibeau will also discuss the transition to digital and the future of online gaming experiences.

Gamescom 2012 takes place in Cologne, Germany from Wednesday, August 15 to Sunday, August 19.

In addition to the keynote, EA will also host a media briefing at 3pm BST on Tuesday, August 14.

The event will be broadcast live via EA’s website.

EA is set to make multiple announcements during this year’s show, and will reveal new content from FIFA 13, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Crysis 3, SimCity and more.

The firm teased yesterday that it still had three unannounced titles due to be released early next year which could be revealed at Gamescom.

And if you can’t wait for Gamescom, be sure to tune in to EA’s Summer Showcase event tonight for news on Mass Effect 3, plus early looks at FIFA 13, MOH: Warfighter and Battlefield 3: Armored Kill.
