Update 14:45pm: And now the website and game's own social media platforms have gone live, we can confirm Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered will also be released on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via the Epic Games Store alongside the PS4 version.

ORIGINAL STORY FOLLOWS: After the leak a few weeks ago, a new trailer has been released confirming the existence of a remaster of 2009's Ghostbusters: The Video Game coming later this year.

The trailer went live on the official PlayStation Europe channel earlier today, so right now that's the only format we know of at the time of writing, but you may remember the leaked listing on the Taiwanese ratings board mentioned Xbox One, so we'll have to wait for confirmation of other formats.

The game – in case you need a refresher, is not so much a retelling of the movies but an entirely new story taking some inspiration from the classic films with the original cast including Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, the late Harold Ramis and Bill Murray all reprising their iconic roles.

The release is a team effort by Saber Interactive, who were behind the recent World War Z game, and Mad Dog Games who worked on Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn. There's no specific date yet for Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered, but the trailer claims the release is 'coming 2019'.
