Ghost of Yotei release time countdown, pre-order bonuses, preload size and more

The release date and time countdown for when Ghost of Yotei will come out is nearly over, and here you will find all of the pre-order bonuses, preload size, and more so you are ready for the game’s launch. Ghost of Yotei is another fantastic installment in the series, and it has surpassed Tsushima judging by its Metacritic aggregate. In our own review, we praised the game’s stunning vistas, beautiful scenery, fun gameplay and gripping story, and fortunately everyone on PlayStation will be able to experience all of this soon.

Ghost of Yotei release date

The release date for Ghost of Yotei is October 2nd. This was confirmed earlier this year, and Sucker Punch has joked that the delay of GTA 6 into May was a “great day” as it meant they could release Yotei this year.

Rather than a sequel starring Jin again, Sucker Punch instead opted for a completely new experience set thousands of years later starring Atsu. Erika Ishii, the star of Ghost of Yotei, delivers a phenomenal performance, and they said it was “daunting” to replace Jin at first, but ultimately the role was the “completion of a dream”.

While Jin is a beloved protagonist from the first game, Atsu is equally captivating, and fans are sure to love her just as much.

When does Ghost of Yotei come out?

The release time for when Ghost of Yotei will come out is 9PM PT on October 1st, as well as 12AM ET and 12AM BST on October 2nd. Basically, it’s an international local midnight launch for every region as is typical of PlayStation exclusives on the PSN store.

Unlike Ghost of Tshusima, Yotei is exclusive to the PS5 and PS5 Pro. If you happen to have a PS5 Pro, you will be pleased to know that the game is Enhanced. This means it comes with “enhanced performance and visuals on PlayStation 5 Pro”.

How to preload and download size

You can preload Sucker Punch’s sequel by pre-ordering it from the PSN store. The download size is 85.119 GB, and there is a day one patch that includes visual and performance improvements.

Will Ghost of Yotei come to PC?

Sony hasn’t announced anything regarding Ghost of Yotei coming to PC in the future. While nothing has been confirmed, it likely will happen as Ghost of Tsushima joined Steam after originally launching on the PS4.

Ghost of Tsushima originally released on July 17th, 2020, and it didn’t arrive on PC until the Director’s Cut on May 16th, 2024. Hopefully PC users won’t have to wait as long to get their hands on Sucker Punch’s sequel, and hopefully there won’t be a repeat of the review bombing scandal due to forced PSN controversy.
