Ghost of Yotei brings back the hot springs scene from Ghost of Tsushima, and fans are praising Sucker Punch for not treating Atsu differently to Jin. Ghost of Yotei is now out for everyone to enjoy on PlayStation 5, and the game is an excellent experience. There’s a lot of similarities with Tsushima, so the biggest changes are no doubt the setting and its new protagonist, Atsu. The Ghost of Yotei star has said it was “daunting” replacing Jin at first, but fans will be pleased to know that Atsu is just as captivating as Jin, if not more. Fans are also thrilled that Sucker Punch has brought back hot springs and the developer hasn’t shied away from treating Atsu the same as Jin.
Ghost of Yotei fans praise Sucker Punch for hot springs scene
The hot springs scene quickly became famous in Ghost of Tsushima as it would show the full back of Jin as he disrobes and steps into the steamy pool to reflect. There were 18 hot springs to find in Tsushima, meaning players were treated to Jin’s buttocks more than a dozen times.
Many fans wondered if hot springs would return in Ghost of Yotei, and the good news is that they are back, although at the slightly smaller number of 16 to find. Not only are they back, but Sucker Punch didn’t shy away from showing the same amount of natural nudity.
In Ghost of Yotei, the scene plays out identical to Tsushima. You see Atsu fully bare from behind as she steps into the pool, and then she sits and reflects similar to Jin.
Reacting to the scene on Reddit, there is praise for Sucker Punch and how “they didn’t treat female nudity differently than male nudity”. This user elaborated that “Had [Sucker Punch] used clever angles or faded to black or kept her wrapped up… the message that sends is ‘female nudity is inappropriate’”. Instead, Sucker Punch treating Atsu the same as Jin sends the message “female nudity is not any more inappropriate than male nudity, and we’re showing it because that’s what it looks like when a character hops into the bath”.

As for the future of the series, don’t expect Yotei to be the last as Sucker Punch has teased continuing to explore different time periods and settings, albeit with the caveat that some boundaries can’t be crossed.
