Germany’s videogames rating board, the Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle, has ruled Dead Rising to be too violent to go on sale. It’s likely that the relentless hack and slash killing was an aspect of the game the ratings board objected to. In Dead Rising you play as photographer Frank West, who somehow ends up in a battle against a bunch of zombies.
It’s currently unclear if Capcom will be resubmitting a censored version of the game (think green blood), or if the game will simply be unavailable in Germany. Dead Rising will go on sale across Europe (for the time being excluding Germany) in September.
