Doug Cockle, best known for his voice work as Geralt of Rivia in CD Projekt's The Witcher, can be heard voicing the titular character in the upcoming Victor Vran: Overkill Edition on Switch, which is out August 28.

In an interview for the upcoming Switch launch of the game, Cockle explained that developer Haemimont Games wanted a voice for Victor Vran that was 'similar to another character that shall remain nameless,' but won't in this news piece because it's Geralt, obviously.

All up to speed? Good.

'They didn't want the same voice, but they wanted a similar kind of tone,' Cockle said. 'They liked the sounds that they heard coming out of my face!'

They clearly did because Vic and Ger sound extremely alike. I always enjoy hearing actors talk about their process, though, so it's interesting to hear how certain roles are cast. Plus Doug's gravel is almost inhumane and always a pleasure to listen to.

While it's not coming to Switch for another month or so, Victor Vran: Overkill Edition is available now on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
