Gamerscoreblog has confirmed that Gears of War for PC will fully support DirectX 10 in Windows Vista, but will also be compatible with Windows XP out of the box, unlike many of Microsoft’s recent offerings (Halo 2 and Shadowrun).
Gears for PC will also feature Games for Windows LIVE and, while not supporting cross platform play, will offer 1000 Gamerscore points and a bunch of Achievements. The good news is these Achievements are entirely new so even if you’ve played through the Xbox 360 game there’ll be something new.
The PC version will also feature a host of new online modes and maps, a level editor and five new single-player chapters – content which is currently highly unlikely to make its way to Xbox 360.
