The latest Gears of War auto update is now available and, as previously revealed, includes the new Annex multiplayer game mode along with a host of fixes and new additions.
If you load up the game you’ll be prompted to download an update; this should be pretty brief and once complete you’ll have access to the new Annex mode. Here the objective is to seize and keep control of key map locations, collecting points all the time you’re team is in control. Reach the points target first to win.
Other updates include:
- Improved VGA cable support, offering letterboxed visuals for those running the game on monitors such with resolution such as 1280×1024.
- Adjusted Assassination multiplayer mode: leader no longer has to unlock weapons and now must be executed to die.
- Adjusted Boomshot: Splash damage to be more effective rendering targets down-but-not-out.
- Adjusted Hammer of Dawn: Aiming will be more forgiving of moving targets.
- Adjusted Roadie Run: Reduced frequency of accidentally grabbing cover while running.
- Kill Message Ticker: Ticker can now be seen while down-but-not-out and spectating.
- General: Addressed a number of possible exploits in multiplayer.
