Gears of War has been available in North America for around two weeks now, and launched in Europe on November 17. The game has sold a staggering one million copies since going on sale, and has become not only the fastest-selling title of 2006, but also the fastest-selling original Xbox title of all time.
Gears of War has also boosted Xbox Live, with Gold subscriptions jumping by more than 50% since the game launched. So far over 850,000 unique gamers have taken part in 10 million gameplay sessions, and more than seven million achievements have been unlocked.
The game has also shot to the top of the UK All Formats video game chart, selling just under 100,000 copies in only two days.
