Gears of War is coming to the PS5 for the first time on the exact same day Helldivers 2 releases on Xbox. There are rumors of more Xbox console exclusives joining PlayStation in the future, but it all starts again with one of Microsoft’s biggest IPs, GoW. The release date for when Gears of War Reloaded will come out on PS5 is August 26th. It joins PC and Xbox the same day, too.
Xbox console exclusives started coming to PS5 back in 2024, and PlayStation loyalists have been treated to some excellent games such as Sea of Thieves, Forza Horizon 5, and especially Hi-Fi Rush.
A PlayStation job listing suggests Sony are planning to bring more PlayStation-published games to Xbox, and there are rumors of more specific Micrsoft-published games joining PS5. These include the newest Microsoft Flight Simulator, as well as leaks for Halo PS5 ports.

The release time for when Gears of War Reloaded will come out on PS5 is 8AM PT/11AM ET/4PM BST on August 26th. These launch hours apply to Xbox and PC on Steam, too, as the official release time map states it is a simultaneous global launch.

Is GoW Reloaded on Xbox Game Pass?
Yes, Gears of War Reloaded is available on Xbox Game Pass starting August 26th. It’s another stellar day-one release for the Microsoft subscription service.
Is GoW Reloaded multiplayer and crossplay?
Gears of War Reloaded is multiplayer. The multiplayer supports up to eight players, and there have been betas leading up to the game’s full release.
In addition, GoW is crossplay. This means you will be able to play with friends across all systems meaning Xbox, PS5, and PC. There is also cross-progression, something Helldivers 2 still won’t have even after the Xbox release.
