According to the LA Times, development of the Gears of War movie has slowed with sources indicating that the scope of the project has been cut considerably, switching from a sprawling epic to a straight-up invasion story.
The budget for the project has also been slashed to a good chunk less than the originally reported $100 million.
Director Len Wiseman has also turned his attention to apocalyptic thriller Nocturne, which in turn seriously weakens the possibility of seeing his wife, Kate Beckinsale, taking a starring role.
