Wyck Godfrey, producer of the Gears of War movie, has been speaking to ‘Making Of’ about the transition from video game to Hollywood movie.
“The hard part is to make [Gears of War] into something that doesn’t feel like a world torn asunder and people just in battle,” he said. “I think we really want to focus on the idea of a world that’s running well and then it’s Emergence Day.”
He added that he would like the film to tell the story of people’s survival in the 48 hours following Emergence Day – likening the experience to recent monster movie Cloverfield.
Emergence Day was the day that the Locust Horde emerged from underground and launched an assault upon the human race. In twenty four hours, the Locusts attacked every major city across the planet Sera.
