We all know by now that Emergence Day is set for November 12 in the US, but it now appears that the game will be arriving in stores several days before then. The finished game will be finding its way to retailers and onto store shelves on November 8, and Microsoft will be using Emergence Day on November 12 to host a number of events.
On November 12 Epic and Microsoft will be hosting a 24-hour Gears of War tournament, with a Gears of War-branded guitar and a pass to the finals of the Global Gears of War Tournament going to the winner. The 12th will also see a number of sweepstakes taking place and a wait for it… an exclusive free Gears of War gamer pic and theme.
If you think you have what it takes, you’ll also be able to find Megadeth and CliffyB on Xbox Live challenging the gamers to some Gears of War multiplayer.
Where this leaves the European Launch is a little unclear, because the game isn’t scheduled to arrive until November 17 – thus missing all the Emergence Day shenanigans.
