Posting in a developer blog on 1up.com, Epic poster boy and Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski has commented on the Xbox 360. While talking about how games have moved on over the years Cliff says:
“We expect more features, more depth, better graphics, quality acting, a well written narrative, and everything except for the kitchen sink. Sophisticated gamers? Yes. Spoiled? Maybe a little. But is it so wrong?”
He then goes on to specifically mention the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, saying:
“I can’t speak much for Sony right now – yeah, we’re working on stuff for the PS3 but honestly I’m so busy with Gears that it’s all I’m seeing and I can tell you – Microsoft is giving you a hell of a system. This thing is a BEAST and is capable of MUCH GREATNESS.”
Sure, cynics would argue that a man working on one of the most high profile games for the Xbox 360 would say good things about it, and those cynics may well have a point. Even so, it’s great to hear some positive opinion on the console and makes the wait for its arrival even harder.
