It would appear that wires have been crossed somewhere at Xbox HQ, with an ad confirming the April 2011 release date for Gears of War 3 appearing on the Xbox 360 dashboard.
It’s assumed the ad went live as originally scheduled, following a planned reveal of the game on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. However, Cliff Bleszinski’s appearance on the show was delayed until Monday. The cat’s well out truly out of the bag now.
The ad includes the Gears of War logo and states: “Gears of War 3 Announced. The epic story concludes April 2011.”
