Gears of War is undoubtedly the most anticipated Xbox 360 release of the year, and early review scores have lived up to the hype the game has generated over the last year or so. The game launched last week in North America and will be available across Europe from November 17, and Microsoft is expecting big things from the Epic Games shooter, stating that it forecasts sales in excess of one million units this Christmas.
“The reception that ‘Gears of War’ has received has been tremendous,” said Cliff Bleszinski, lead designer for ‘Gears of War’ at Epic Games. “Designing ‘Gears of War’ has been a labour of love, and we’ve poured everything we have into the title. We expect this game to be huge, and it’s exhilarating to see that people are as excited about ‘Gears of War’ as we are.“
