Gears 5 has been officially announced during Microsoft's E3 press conference this evening. Yes, that's Gears 5, not Gears of War 5. Go figure.
Marcus Fenix is back alongside his son JD, as well as Kait, who appears to be taking a larger role this time around. The footage shown makes it clear she's the protagonist of the game, or at least will be for a big part of the action.
Gears 5 is scheduled for release on Xbox One in 2019.
