Gamescom 2024 will have a ‘record number’ of exhibitors, the organisers have revealed. A press release sent to media detailed that there will be more than 1,400 exhibitors this year – a 15% increase on 2023. The number of country pavilions will also increase significantly to 48 from 37 countries – also a new record. This compares with 33 pavilions from 26 countries in 2023.

The yearly event, which takes place at the Cologne Koelnmesse, Germany has long been popular with gamers around the world looking to get hands-on with a number of upcoming titles. Since E3 was cancelled last year, Gamescom has become increasingly important for developers and publishers to showcase their work, so it’s encouraging the industry continues to support it.

Gerald Böse, CEO of Koelnmesse: “The world’s largest gaming event continues to grow. We are delighted to be able to announce these outstanding figures just one week before Gamescom kicks off. Together with our partners and co-organizer game – The German Games Industry Association, we are also implementing great innovations that contribute to the diversity and attractiveness of Gamescom”.

Felix Falk, Managing Director of game – The German Games Industry Association: “The omens could hardly be better just a few days before the start of Gamescom 2024: Whether it’s the record number of exhibitors, the exciting Gamescom Opening Night Live program or new formats like the social stage, it’s clear that the community can expect a games festival like no other this year. The anticipation for the world’s biggest gaming event is huge – both on-site in Cologne and digitally around the world.”

The number of country pavilions will also increase significantly to 48 from 37 countries – also a new record. This compares with 33 pavilions from 26 countries in 2023.
