With Microsoft, Sony and EA dropping support for this year’s Game Zone Live event, the September consumer show has been cancelled. The event was going to be televised.
The trade-only partner show, EGN, will still be held – though the venue is still unknown, as the ExCeL exhibition space in London’s Docklands can no longer be used.
An ELSPA spokesperson said: “The cancellation of GameZone Live has no impact on the future of EGN, aside from the location. The feedback from last year’s inaugural event was incredibly positive and ELSPA is looking forward to building on a successful launch.” They went on: “The UK is the gateway the European market and we intend to maintain a strong industry-facing event in London this year.”
Specific details will be announced soon.
