UPDATE 16/02: Telltale has solved the problem and submitted a patch to Microsoft for certification.
“We have submitted a patch to Microsoft to resolve the issue some customers have experienced where Episode One choices did not carry over into Episode Two,” the developer said in an update posted over the weekend.
“We expect the patch to be released in the next 7-10 days and will update this thread as soon as it is available. We really appreciate everyone’s patience and hope to have you playing with your choices very soon.”
ORIGINAL STORY: Telltale is investigating a bug affecting the Xbox One version of Game of Thrones that prevents users from carrying their choices across to the second episode.
A number of users reported suffering from the problem on the game’s official forums, with major choices failing to carry over into Episode 2. The bug does not appear to affect any other platforms.
In a statement on Telltale’s website, the developer said that it is “aware of an issue with the Xbox One version of Game of Thrones – Episode 2: The Lost Lords, where customers’ choice data may not carry over correctly from Episode 1.
“We are working to determine the cause and will update here as soon as we have more information to share.”
This isn’t the first time a problem like this has affected Telltale’s games, of course. The Walking Dead also suffered from an issue preventing choices from carrying over.
“We appreciate your patience and want to get you playing with your choices intact as soon as possible,” the developer added.
