Marvel Rivals’ free-to-play gameplay has become a breeding ground for exploits, with players finding unforeseen exploits to gain an advantage. From Ultron’s continuous damage exploit in Season 2.5 to unique ability combos, the community’s use of the game’s features has been quite imaginative.

While some see these approaches as savvy moves, others believe they disrupt the gameplay balance, sparking calls for developer action from NetEase. The recent addition of Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol mode, an auto-battler that emphasizes pure strategy, has only increased the emphasis on exploiting character talents to win.

NetEase has yet to solve many of these concerns, leaving the community hungry for patches that would restore fair play. Amidst the chaos, a particular exploit has surfaced, gaining widespread notice for its ability to convert matches into unstoppable nightmares by trapping enemies inside vaults.

New Doctor Strange portal tech lets you trap enemies inside walls in Marvel Rivals

A new Marvel Rivals exploit featuring Doctor Strange’s infamous portals has made its way to the game, where players are using them to trap enemies inside walled-out-of-bounds rooms. The exploit shared by dongm1n_ on X shows the exploit in action on the Spider Islands Convergence map.

To execute it, you must be on the defending team and open a portal on the roof of a closed room without a door and another one on the entrance door for the enemy team escorting the convoy. Then quickly switch to another hero who can break walls like Peni Parker.

Once enemies fall into the portal, they will be trapped inside the walled room completely, and you’ll need to shoot the outer wall, which acts as a window for you to peek at the enemies inside. In this user’s case, they managed to trap the enemy team’s Vanguards, allowing their team to gain the advantage and defend the convoy from moving.

This exploit has sparked controversy within the community, with some viewing it as a creative use of game mechanics. In contrast, others see it as a severe breach of fair play, leading to calls for developer intervention from NetEase.
