All outstanding matters pending before the FTC have now been settled, with no penalties or fines.

Early last month the FTC made its judgment over the ‘Hot Coffee’ scandal, ruling that the publisher “failed to disclose important information about the game’s content to consumers.

The publisher was ordered to not misrepresent a video game’s rating or content descriptions and also to implement a system to ensure the accurate review of all game content.

We are extremely pleased that the FTC has concluded its very thorough investigation, and that the matter has been resolved,” said Paul Eibeler, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We recognize the importance of maintaining public confidence in the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rating system and helping the ESRB educate parents and consumers about the rating system. We look forward to putting this behind us and focusing on what we do best – creating video games.
