From Software recently put out a job application on its official website looking for a new Character Modeler, and it’s increasingly likely that this is in preparation for a new Armored Core game.

From Software has had a successful past two years. Elden Ring, then Armored Core 6, then Shadow of the Erdtree. It’s sufficient to say that it just doesn’t miss. The company’s next game is likely going to be a new Armored Core title, and with all of Hidetaka Miyazaki’s talk of its next titles, the fact that they are hiring for someone who will be ‘modelling and texturing characters or robots,’ it’s hard to see how this could be anything other than Armored Core 7.

It’s possible that a new Armored Core game is in sight, or that it’s an expansion for the existing Fires of Rubicon game.

When the company revived the series after a long dormant period, Fires of Rubicon was met with incredible praise. It proved to the world that From Software wasn’t a one-trick pony, milking its Souls formula for all it’s worth, and that venturing outside of its proven practice works. From the looks of things, and the inventive and bold approach to games that From Software takes, an Armored Core 7 is inevitable.

In fact, Hidetaka Miyazaki has all but confirmed its presence. In speaking with IGN Japan, and translated by Gaming Bolt, he said that “I have no intention of stopping there. However, nothing concrete has been decided yet.”

In light of the fact that the job posting is so fresh, it’s unlikely that we will see AC7 for a good few years. There are other job listings on From Software’s website; concept artists, modellers, motion designers, and lighting supervisors. It looks like Miyazaki’s team is cooking up something big, and fans of the Armored Core franchise will have plenty to look forward to in the coming years.
