Multiplayer horror game Slasher Vol.1: Summer Camp is no more, having transformed into Friday the 13th: The Game thanks to an official partnership with Crystal Lake Entertainment, Gun Media and IllFonic have announced.

The game is targeting a launch in autumn 2016 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Friday the 13th: The Game is an online, asymmetric multiplayer game where one player will assume the role of Jason Voorhees, with seven other players assuming the roles of camp counsellors trying to survive the night.

“As you can imagine the conversion from Slasher Vol.1: Summer Camp to Friday the 13th: The Game was a dream come true for our entire team,” explained Ronnie Hobbs, of Gun Media. “1v7 asymmetrical multiplayer is a perfect fit for this franchise, and we can’t wait to share our creation with fans across the world.”

A Kickstarter for the project has also been announced which is designed to “expand the scope of the game and give backers the ability to be a part of the franchise forever”.

A Friday the 13th game had actually already been announced for release this month, and sounds surprisingly similar to the concept here. We haven’t heard anything more on that project since its reveal back in January, however.
