Friday the 13th released to criticism from players last month due to server issues. With this being a multiplayer only game, and multiple people having problems getting online, this is a pretty big snafu. Now, publisher Gun Media is offering up free DLC for all players as an apology.

Content Update #1 adds some ‘cool free s**t,’ as the trailer below notes, like a retro skin for Jason Voorhees, as well as some old-school sounding chiptune music.

There’s also new clothes for all counselors, and 13k free points for players to dump into customisation. As a sort of make-good, there’s even going to be a double XP weekend from June 23-25.

PC and PS4 players are availing of this already, but as outlined in a post on the game’s official Facebook page, everyone on Xbox One will have to wait a bit longer as the update didn’t pass Microsoft’s certification for release on its home console.

It hasn’t been the smoothest of launches for Jason.
