Frictional Games, the team behind Amnesia: The Dark Descent, has released an update and new trailer on its PS4 sci-fi horror title SOMA.

SOMA is described as a sci-fi horror game played from a first person perspective. Players take on the role of a normal person trapped in a nightmarish world who must somehow survive.

“This video showcases a few in-game scenes along with fresh voice work,” explained Thomas Grip, creative director at Frictional Games. “Our hope is to give you a taste of the feel and atmosphere that SOMA will have. It also contains a few clues on what the game’s story will be about.”

Grip added that the game is currently about a week away from reaching alpha.

He concluded: “We still have a long way to go; SOMA is still a year or so away from its 2015 release. We feel we are on the right track, though, and think this is shaping up to be our studio’s best work so far by a wide margin.”
