Tomorrow’s roll-out of the new Xbox 360 dashboard will be supported by a new Xbox Companion app for Windows Phone 7, Microsoft has revealed.
The free app lets users track friend activity and search Xbox LIVE for content, but most exciting is its remote control functionality. Using the Companion app it will be possible to take control of media on the Xbox 360 just like you would with a regular remote: play, pause, rewind etc, all from the touch screen phone.
It will also be possible to purchase media content using the app.
