3DS owners can now stay connected wherever they go with the launch of Nintendo Zone, offering free WiFi using approximately 25,000 Hotspots across Europe, Nintendo has announced.

Nintendo Zone is a free location based, interactive service that allows 3DS owners to access content including upcoming trailers of games in 2D and 3D, product information, 2D and 3D screenshots, Nintendo 3DS game demos and free video clips.

In order to access Nintendo Zone, the 3DS must be running the latest system update, accessed via “System Settings” then “Other Settings” and “System Update”.

Nintendo has also released a Hotspot finder tool – check hotspot.nintendo.co.uk to find your nearest Hotspot. When you are nearby a Hotspot the Nintendo Zone icon will blink to notify you that you are within reach of a compatible Hotspot area.
