With the Summer Olympics just around the corner, Konami is readying its Mario & Sonic rival, New International Track and Field.

Today Konami has revealed more information on the game’s online elements which include four-player multiplayer using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and online World Rankings.

Track & Field is all about setting the fastest time or best score and using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection it will be easy to view the global high scores and world rankings. Players will also be kept up to date on the latest record breaking achievements through a news feed service.

Multiplayer will also be supported online, with up to four players from anywhere in the world able to compete in real time. There’ll be lobbies available for players from Europe, Japan, Korea and the US.

New International Track and Field is scheduled for release on July 20 only on Nintendo DS.
