UPDATE: Turn 10 has confirmed that Xbox Live Gold members will be able to play Forza Motorsport 6 for free this weekend.

The event runs from today through to Sunday, August 28, and offers the full game up in its entirety. To try it, grab it from the Xbox Store or download it directly from the Ready to Install section of My Games & Apps.

ORIGINAL REPORT: Forza Motorsport 6 could be the next game to go free for a weekend on Xbox One.

Some users on Reddit noticed overnight that the game can be downloaded and installed to their Xbox One, despite having not purchased it. The game is also reportedly featured in the Gold section of the American Xbox Store, alongside the label “Free Play Days Gold”.

Microsoft has yet to announce a free-play period for Forza Motorsport 6, although it has offered free weekends for other games in the past, including Sunset Overdrive, Halo 5: Guardians and Rainbow Six Siege.

Once the free play period is over, players must purchase the game in order to continue.

Still, if you haven’t yet tried Turn 10’s racer, what’s the harm in giving it a go? Tom said he liked the game “a lot” in his 8/10 review, despite the trees apparently being “absolutely awful”. Right… Head through to the review for his complete thoughts.
