According to prolific leaker NateTheHate, Forza Horizon 6 is targeting a release in the “first half of 2026”. This means it intends to come out “Before the end of June,” which is exciting and puts the game in a good position to benefit from the most recent delay of GTA 6.
Right now, it is only confirmed to launch in 2026. The official plan is to release it first on PC and Xbox Series X/S, before it eventually joins PS5 post-launch. Unfortunately, there’s no clue as to how long it will take to join PlayStation 5 consoles.
The series is heading to Japan for the first time. It was revealed at Tokyo Game Show earlier this year, and it promises “scenic and breathtaking” sights. Japan is one of the most highly requested destinations among the Forza community, and it should be just as amazing as driving around Mexico.
Forza Horizon 5 hopped into bed with PlayStation earlier this year, and it is one of the highest-selling PS5 games of 2025. It’s a shame Forza Horizon 6 is not releasing on PS5 day one, unlike Halo Campaign Evolved, but hopefully its Xbox exclusivity doesn’t last too long.
Forza Horizon 6 to benefit from GTA 6 delay
GTA 6 was intended for May but is now delayed to November 19. There are a lot of major games coming out in early 2026 that will benefit from Grand Theft Auto’s delay, and Forza Horizon 6 is another, assuming the leak is accurate. Many in the industry see GTA 6 as a “black cloud that looms kind of over everything,” so the delay is good news for everyone but publishers planning to release in Fall next year.
We have been blessed with incredible games this year, but 2026 is shaping up to be even better. Below are some of the biggest games confirmed and rumored for early next year so far:
- Code Vein 2 – January 30
- Deus Ex Remastered – February 5
- Dragon Quest VII Reimagined – February 5
- Resident Evil Requiem – February 27
- Fatal Frame II Crimson Butterfly Remake – March 12
- Monster Hunter Stories 3 Twisted Reflection – March 13
- Crimson Desert – March 16
- Mouse Detective P.I. For Hire – March 19
- Saros – March 20
- Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake – week of March 23 (rumor)
- Silent Hill Townfall – March 26 (rumor)
- 007 First Light – March 27
The Game Awards is set for December 11. It’s possible that Forza Horizon 6 might appear with a release date announcement, but nothing is confirmed right now. One game we know will be at The Game Awards with a new trailer and hopefully a release date is Mass Effect spiritual successor, Exodus.
